This is a routine medical appointment in which an optometrist will perform tests and ask questions to get an overall picture of your vision and eye health. The appointment includes cover tests, external exams, pupil reactions and refraction testing.
VISIUAL FIELD TESTING
In this appointment, the patient’s central and peripheral vision will be measured. The visual fields of each eye will be mapped and examined for dim vision or blind spots.
COLOR VISION TESTING
Our colour vision testing involves the Ishihara color test and measures your ability to tell the difference among colors. Our Doctors are then able to recommend treatments and other consultations for patients.
DILATION EYE EXAM
This exam involves the use of eye drops to dilate the patient’s pupils. This allows our eye care professionals to examine the patient’s optic nerve and macula.
CYCLO EYE EXAM
This procedure is used by our specialists to determine the patient’s complete refractive error using cycloplegic eye drops. These drops temporarily relax the focusing muscle of the eye. Allowing our healthcare professionals to determine the power needed to bring the patient’s vision to normal focus.
This procedure examines the internal drainage system of the eye. Our eye care specialists use this methodology to diagnose various eye conditions associated with glaucoma.
INTRA-OCULAR PRESSURE (I.O.P)
This eye exam measures the fluid pressure inside the eye. It allows for the early detection of diseases like Glaucoma.
A simple test the measures the patient’s corneal thickness. This allows our doctors to diagnose and treat swollen cornea related conditions.

FOREIGN BODY REMOVAL

pterygium is a growth of a fleshy tissue on the conjunctiva, the clear tissue that covers the eyeball. Our Doctors use a a method with alcohol to scrape the pterygium completely from the cornea, resulting in a low chance of recurrence.
